Day 07

I went to church.

Well, I was away from God.

I need to get closer to him and learn more about Him.

Without Him I am nothing.

It is still cold outside. I think about homeless people.

I wonder how they are doing in winter like this.

Last week we had a flood in our area.

The good news is we do not have any flood in our house.

I just found out other people's houses were damaged.

I am sorry for them. I remember what Pastor Derek said about experiencing God.

One story he brought out was from when he was a Bible seminar student.

He had a wonderful professor. His name was Seth Wilson.
He passed away in 2006. Anyway, Seth taught his students to memorize verses.
Especially one day they had 30 scripture to memorize. He asked everyone in the class to stand up, recite, and explain the meaning. No one in the classroom did well. They did not memorize well. They did not explain well. So, he decided to stop calling the students. He was a very small guy. He had a very loud and firm voice.
There went a booming voice and it said to them, "Is it this what you are doing? You guys need to go out there to prisoners and tell the good news about Jesus. What do you think about our master? You guys need passion about him and more desire about him. If you do not know the word of God, you can not preach to the world. You would not do it this way. Come on! Wake up guys! I do not have anything more to teach today. You guys can go now."
Pastor Derek remembers that was the shortest class he ever had. Later that day one of classmate make a fun of him.
"How we can do like professor Seth. If we do it like him it will take 24 hours a day and 10 years to memorize verses. When he stopped talking, Seth was right next to him and said to him,
"Son.. that is exactly how much time I spent time with the Bible." It was an amazing story I have heard today. I should spent more time with God. I have to know him first. The Bible tells us everything we need to know about life. I need to meditate more on His word.
